Please forgive my tardiness, but I am not great at expressing my feelings… I loved Maryanne so much. We followed each other‘s children growing…. through college years and it’s just as tho we lived it together we were very close.  I spoke with her via email or phone up until a couple of weeks before  her passing. She meant the world to me, we were like sisters. We reinvented Jumby Bay  three times over with multiple design directions, I loved her, we kept in touch after every  surgery etc and I prayed for her constantly 
I didn’t handle the end well and I miss her terribly. She was such a lovely person, and it breaks my heart to this day. I just recently redesigned Jumby Bay , but it was without her and it made my heart break al over agian.  It made me  realize that no matter how far apart we were, we were always there and had each other‘s heart and back. Such a wonderful friend, person and I loved her dearly. I hope you are all getting along in life better now that some time  has passed. I wish you love happiness and am sending hugs to you all ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I had the honor of working with Maryanne at Rosewood. Maryanne hired me out of college in 2023 and was an incredible mentor and person to work along side of. I remember when we first met for an interview, I came to her house in Lindenhurst. We just talked forever, like we had known each other forever.  I always felt that we had a close connection and loved crossing paths as our careers took different directions over the years.  Maryanne had a powerful, beautiful presence. She was caring, smart, funny and passionate. She loved to share stories of her family… it felt as if we knew Tommy, Angelina and Gianna.  Maryanne truly left an impact on everyone she touched.  I feel like Maryanne helped shape the course of my life, having my first entry into the travel industry under her leadership more than 20 years ago. There are some people in this life that you can never forget and Maryanne is this person. I am forever grateful to have known you and had the opportunity to learn from you. I am so sadden and shocked of this news that I’ve just heard tonight. Sending love and condolences for your family- Tommy, Gianna, Angelina, sisters, cousins, and whole family.

MaryAnne  was a part of and touched so many lives.   We spent all those years together in St. Maarten.   She was classy, funny, pretty, and always so friendly to all.  Truly one of a kind.

I had the pleasure of working with MaryAnne at Rosewood Hotels during the 1990's & then representing CuisinArt Anguilla in the UK for her. We had some fun in the Caribbean & on our travels in Europe and I will forever have wonderful memories of this beautiful lady, my friend & colleague. RIP "MAD One" (as I called her!).

MaryAnne(MAD), Gerard and I shared islands together back in our Rosewood days. We were joined at the hip, us three, for those amazing years - office, travel team - we were work family.  And MaryAnne was a force - drive, determination, style, grace.  Those eyes and smile would pull you in.  We had such laughs together. Too many stories to be retold as we laughed together even just over a month ago.  And with all that, we also shared being mums together - both of us expecting in the office - you Gianna, me Matthew. That in itself brought more stories and more laughs. Memories I will always cherish.
I will miss you so much MaryAnne.  I cannot imagine the grief Tommy, the girls and all the family are enduring.

Tom and the girls  and your wonderful sisters did an amazing job on your celebration of life, I have no doubt you're dancing on that peg leg with the angels.
Angelina is remarkably you in an inspired artistic way and Gianna you'd be pleased to hear didn't decline discussing my idea of law school!  Tom is and has always been a star.
 I'm listening to Bocelli's "Time to say GoodBye" and kinda losing it.  Will always cherish the time we were in Italy and rushing from last sales appointment on via Gesu to get to Peck provisions for your 14 lb hunk of parmesan that five different family members would get a piece of after you schlepped it home.  You with the cheese, me with 6 liters of "liquid gold" olive oil.  
Anyway as we rush into Duomo square and realize a concert set up of some sort is going on and then on que like it was meant for us the warm up from the stage is the blind Tenor himself getting ready for the free concert he does impromptu for the local Milanese.  We had such fun that evening blending like we were locals, I'll cherish that memory as one of so many on our travel adventures...

For all of us it's going to be a tough time adjusting to your departure, you've been a friend and mentor to so many like no other.

We never met, but it seems I have always known you, thanks to the nice words of MaryAnne, who loved her family more than everything.

During the time we spent together here in Italy or at Jumby Bay, we had wonderful moments together and I was so blessed as MaryAnne used to call me her sister.

I will remember forever MaryAnne with her beautiful smile, having always a nice word for me and for my family.

Our home in Milan or in San Michele di Pagana (close to Portofino) is open to Angelina and Gianna whether they wish to stay with us and spend some time here in Italy, of course also Tommy is very welcomed.

MaryAnne and I would have loved our daughters to stay together for a while.

The time when I made you ride the Rodeo Bull, and you struggled more taking your cowboy boots off than riding the bull!

The time when you made me pull up on “double yellow lines” (Illegal in the UK) as you wanted to get a picture outside Harry Styles Childhood home for the girls and then you wanted to buy a cake from the local bakery he worked in and take pictures with all the staff – Who LOVED you as you were their first ever visitor from NYC! I sat waiting as I could see you through the window hugging the staff and chatting away! – Whilst I was looking out for the traffic police! You calmly returned with a loaf of bread and some great photos for your girls! – What a great Mama!

How I still have my driver’s license is surprising and how I don’t have a criminal record!

The time when we hired a camper van and Ross was our driver and we both kept bossing him around and he nearly divorced both of us!

I Loved that you always changed the menu when you ordered your food & always with a Diet Coke!

My heart will be empty missing you cousin MaryAnne.  Never thought this day would come after your strength, courage and determination. 
We have had so much fun, laughter, and endless memories shared for our entire lifetime together. Our family bond will never die and you will stay in my heart forever. As little girls we had so many wonderful times spent going to art lessons (getting paint on my Mom’s new Cadillac’s leather seats where me and my sister spent hours soaking in the tub waiting for your father to pick you up) to going to Grandma DeMatteo’s house getting into trouble with Steve and his friend who came to visit us outside the gate and Aunt Amalia running after us in her wet bathing suit to make sure we were ok! The times that come to mind are insane and our European adventures were countless cousins times they will never be forgotten. Our years spent together in St. Martins as your Mom calls it on Mullet beach soaking in the tropical sun and our nights dancing and eating those favorite French fries you loved on the Marigot Marina and shopping for our new French bikinis were the best of times -when you got sick there was nothing more rewarding then taking you out to get our nails done, shopping for your girls Christmas gifts in Walt Whitman mall, getting Starbucks and our stops we made for dinners where George came along were still times of hysterical laughter and great times spent together -you will be missed and I am forever thankful I had so many wonderful summers, and years spent with you! Maryanne was like a big sister to me in so many ways.  We traveled the world together with Rosewood (and with Gus, too) and have a million stories full of laughter, smiles and fun.  I respected everything about her, and appreciated her mentorship in so many ways--- most importantly, how to be a working mother.  She was as smart, loyal, considerate and funny as they come.  She loved her girls, Tommy and her family like something fierce- the Mama Bear no one would go against!  Her spirit, advice, and compassion will live with me always. Maryanne was an inspiration! Her positive attitude and constant smile inspired  many people . She was such a strong person . As her neighbor I would speak with her when she went on her daily walks with her aide . She also had a positive attitude and a smile on her face .  It is surreal , I still can’t believe she has passed,  I know her bright light is still shining on all those who loved her. Our prayers and our thoughts are with her loving family. My Dear Cousin MaryAnne, my heart is broken.  We were more like sisters than cousins, even when we were young, people used to think we were.  I have so many countless memories I could share because we spent a lot of time together growing up.  Whether it was a family party, a bbq at my house or yours, our years of spending Christmas and New Year’s together in SXM or our trips together as young adults, there was never a moment without a million smiles and a ton of laughter.  I will miss you always but will remember the good times like when we flew to Corsica and our hotel was on the opposite side of the island. We rented a stick shift and drove through the countryside in a clown car. Five girls, 5 huge suitcases and carry ons packed in one small car driving along the narrow curving mountain roads with my face smushed into the front window. Even though extremely treacherous, we found hilarity and fun in everything we did.  Our moms always wondering what we were all always giggling about.  I am so sad but I think my father, grandma, aunt diane and everyone up there welcomed you with open arms and you will have the best Easter celebration with grandma’s delicious cooking, playing pokino and laughing endlessly.  Hug my father for me and be at peace dear cousin.  Love you 💔 Cousin Angela

Maryanne and I worked together in the early years of our careers, and she was a jewel. Once we were in St. Barths to check out competing resorts, and we grabbed a couple of baby blue towels to look like guests at Guanahani. We climbed a steep hill to explore the resort, and as we came up over the crest of the hill, we found ourselves suddenly standing on the beach blanket of a naked elderly couple. Never had we ever been so apologetic, grossed out and amused — all at one time. I hope she is still giggling about this in heaven. She will be greatly missed.

It is with sadness in my heart that I say to the family my deepest condolences on the passing of our dear MaryAnn, or  how i would referred to her as the lady in black.  MaryAnn would always call Trudi (Reservations Manager) and say to her. Please ask Christina to pray for us to get sales, (that is for the hotel) or to pray for a family member or for herself.
