As a Fellow Navy veteran I want to send my deepest prayers and condolences to the family and friends of this great veteran I do not know what happened, but he was clearly taken from this world too soon too many times have I seen Veterans taken too soon and at a young age. I myself am 37 and not far behind him in age and I can’t imagine what his family is going through right now I pray that our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and almighty God will welcome him into heaven with open arms, and that he continually watches over his family and loved ones from above, and may God be with all of you in your time of need in these difficult times 🙏🏼✝️🙏🏼

In these moments it’s hard to find the right words. We grew up with you, we knew you. From Biking as young kids to High School Football to Nights out. RIP Matt.

Matt Just returned home for the first time since entering the Navy. We were all excited to get out and catch up!

Part 2
Like most families, we experienced both joys and challenges during his teenage years. After completing some college coursework, Matthew entered the military. I believe this was a place where he found purpose and direction. In time, he also became a father to a beautiful daughter and two handsome sons, a role that connected him to life in a deeply meaningful way.
Matthew faced difficult periods in his life, and during those years we became estranged. Even then, my hope for him never faded. I continued to pray that he would find peace, health, and stability. He had so much potential and much to offer, and his life ended far too soon.
I find comfort in my faith, trusting that Matthew is now held in God’s grace and surrounded by a peace that was not always possible for him here. I believe he is free and safely embraced by our Heavenly Father. Until the day we meet again, I carry him quietly in my heart, trusting that he has been welcomed home and granted eternal rest.

Memories of my Son
Part 1
As I remember my son, I find myself reflecting on the many moments that shaped his life and mine. I carried him, gave birth to him, and raised my son, Matthew, with love and care, doing the best I knew how. From his earliest days, I tended to his needs and gave him my attention, one day at a time.
We shared simple routines that became meaningful memories. We read books together every night before bed and we built houses, bridges, and fireplaces out of blocks in his room. Matthew loved to imagine himself as a “worker.” He would sometimes head to the basement, announcing he was off to work, tools in hand, setting traps for the bad guys. At other times, he became a businessman, carefully gathering papers and placing them into a briefcase. These moments reflected his curiosity and creativity as he learned about the world around him.
We also worked side by side on his school projects—book reports, science assignments, and creative ideas. One project he especially enjoyed was inspired by The Pagemaster. As he grew, Matthew began taking karate lessons at a local studio. He applied himself with focus and discipline, and by fifth grade he earned his black belt. It was an accomplishment he took great pride in.
Music became another important part of his life. Matthew learned to play the trumpet and participated in both the school band and the jazz ensemble. When my parents gave him his own silver trumpet, he treasured it. It represented not only his dedication to music, but also the encouragement and love of his family.

Eternal rest grant unto Matthew, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.  May he rest in peace.  Amen.

I have too many memories to share in 2 minutes, but these are a few special ones. So sorry for your loss. 💔praying for his family and friends

Having served with Matt as a fellow Gunner's Mate at Coastal Riverine Squadron 2 in Portsmouth, VA I have many, many memories with Matt. He was my co-pilot when I sank Bake-wa's Jeep Wrangler during a flood, as water started to come into filling up the floorboards of the jeep and approaching our seats he grabbed Bakers flight bag and knifed the float coat off of Bakers vest, threw it over his neck and pulled the manual release of the c02 cartridge and POOF! before the water got up to the dash.  We were only in 4 feet of water but he was ready to float out if he had to! We spent a cold wet ride back to the front gate in the back of a strangers truck, and a walk of shame back to the barracks, Bake-wa got a new jeep and I lost some money but got this silly story. Wild that that was at least 15 years ago. I regret that we let time and distance separate us after service, the loss of one of my favorite men, a fellow service member, a GM and Msron brother is a mighty  blow. To me the world is a darker place without Momo, but I know so many are brighter for having known him.
