Michael W. Srubinski

Michael Walter Srubinski, 61, of West Islip, New York passed away at home peacefully on May

29, 2025 from complications of Early-onset Alzheimer’s Disease.

Born in Oceanside, NY, to Eileen and the late Walter Srubinski. Michael spent his early years in

Baldwin, NY, New Fairfield, CT and then Bethpage, NY, where he met his high school

sweetheart, Diana. After marrying, the two built their life together in West Islip, where they

raised their three sons and created a home full of laughter, warmth, and unconditional love.

Michael was the beloved husband of Diana, and the devoted father of Kenneth (Katie), Thomas

(Kiersten Daly), and Zachary. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Tanner, Preston, and

Abigail.

Michael is survived by his sisters Lydia Philpot and Donna Fritz and brother-in-law Paul Fritz.

He was also son-in-law to Vincent and Lorraine Salamone, and brother-in-law to Laurie and John

Sciscente and Vincent and Jennifer Salamone. Michael was also uncle to seven nieces and

nephews and best friend to Chris Doupe.

Michael worked as a Nassau County Court Officer while attending C.W. Post College. He later

had a career in accounting and finance working with Touche Ross/Deloitte, First Boston, and

ultimately serving as Partner and Chief Financial Officer at Turnberry Capital Management. He

earned his Master’s Degree from New York University (NYU).

In his West Islip community, Michael was known to many as "Coach Mike." He coached youth

football and lacrosse, proudly mentoring his sons and countless others over the years.

Michael will be remembered for his generosity, and the joy he brought to those around him. His

legacy lives on in the family he cherished, the friends who stood by him, and the many lives he

touched.

A Celebration of Life will take place honoring Michael on Sunday, August 17, 2025 from 1:00pm to 5:00pm at the Secatogue Brewing Company located at 375 Union Boulevard West Islip, NY 11795. Please bring your favorite memories and stories to share with the family.
