Nancy Overholser

Nancy was the proud mother of her sons Gary and his wife April, of Ridge; and Andrew and his wife Alison, of New York City. Her grandchildren Liam, Audrey and Zachary and David were the light of her life.

The daughter of the late Edward and Belinda Oberhofer, she was born in South Ozone Park on December 18, 1941. She was a graduate of Bishop McDonnell High School and

St. John's University.

A resident of West Islip for over 40 years, Nancy was an active parishioner at Saint Josephs Church in Babylon where she volunteered on many committees. Before her illness last year she was honored by her parish and inducted as a

Catholic Daughter. She was an officer of the German Geneology Group. An avid reader, she loved her long walks along the beach.

In addition to her many friends she is survived by her sister Gertrude (Louis) Vetri of Florida, brothers George (Arlene) Oberhofer of South Carolina, and Edward Oberhofer of Washington, as well as many nieces and nephews, and her long time partner, Bruce Dow.
