A Life Filled with Laughter, Love, and Light
With hearts full of sorrow, yet gratitude for a life so richly lived, we remember Seymour—a man whose warmth, joy, and boundless kindness touched all who knew him.
Seymour was the devoted husband of his beloved Pearl, with whom he shared 53 years of enduring love, laughter, and the quiet joy of everyday moments. Though Pearl passed before him, their spirits remained forever entwined—especially in the cherished memory of their dances to big band music, where time seemed to pause just for them.
Together, they built a beautiful life, raising two children who were the light of their world. Marla and Mark, and later Mary, Mark’s wife who fit into the Steinberg family perfectly. Seymour’s love for his family was the steady rhythm of his life. He was predeceased by his mother Helen, father Martin and his sister Shirley. Family was a verb for Seymour, so many consider him their adopted father or grandfather. His love knew no bounds. Even his beloved fur babies, Cleo and Lulu, held a special place in his heart. Whether gathered around a dinner table or simply sharing quiet conversation, he found deep happiness in the presence of those he held dear.
A proud Army veteran, Seymour served his country with honor during the Korean War. Though he never sought recognition, his years in the Army were a source of quiet pride and enduring strength.
He was a true original—endlessly jolly, quick with a smile or a laugh, and often affectionately dubbed “The Mayor of Cloverdale Boulevard.” His kindness was legendary, his laughter infectious, and his presence a source of comfort and joy.
He was a loyal fan of the Mets and the Giants, cheering them on with the same spirited enthusiasm he brought to every part of his life.
Seymour’s legacy is one of love—love for his family, for his neighbors, for the music that moved him, and for the life he lived so fully and so well.
He leaves behind a family who adored him, friends who will never forget him, and a community forever made brighter by his presence.
May his memory be a blessing, and may the echoes of his laughter carry on in the hearts of all who knew him.
