He passed peacefully at home.
He is preceded in death by his parents Loren and Kathleen Shepard, and his sister Cheryl.
He is survived by his siblings Marilyn Tefft and Ronald Shepherd and children Mike, Dwayne, Shannon, Carol and Donald. Also 16 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
He served in the Navy. Anyone that knew Rich, knows how proud he was to serve his country, and told many stories.
Rich was a Seabee. The Seabee's are the U.S. Navy Construction Battalions, tasked with building and
defending infrastructure for naval forces around the world during war time and peace time, and humanitarian efforts.
Their name is phonetic acronym for CB "Construction Battalion" Their motto "We Build, We Fight".
They are skilled carpenters and electricians who also received combat training. Rich was an electrician
who served from 1963-1967.
He enjoyed his regular Saturday breakfast with his son Dwayne. He also enjoyed watching Westerns, especially if John Wayne was in it. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and tinkering in his garage.
Rich will truly be missed by his family and by all who knew him.
