Marina was born in Coleman, Tx and traveled to Kern County in 1935 with her parents and brother. She enjoyed knitting, embroidery, and making blankets for all of her babies. She was an avid Dodger fan and enjoyed watching the games at home and actually attended a couple of games. She was a one-of-a-kind woman. Her everlasting love for her family was always so selfless. She has left us with warm-loving memories, faith and compassion. She gave to everyone with unconditional love. She never complained during any struggles in her life and always endured whaterver God handed her with grace. She was our rock, our savior, our matriarch . . . always willing to give. Her motivation was her love for the Lord Jesus Christ. She was a dedicated member of Valley Bible Fellowshiop for 18 years. She dedicated her time and energy to numerous church ministries. Marina is survived by her husband Manuel of 63 years, daughters, Margie and Jeannie, 11 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, her sisters Emma, Amanda, Sarah and Lollie, brothers Joseph, Lionel, John and Jacob, half-sisters Carolina, Audelia and Olivia, half brother Rudy, several nieces, nephews, and cousins, Marina is preceded in death by her son Manuel Jr. and her daughter Diana.
Visitation will be held Sunday, October 2, 2011 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., at Mish Funeral Home, 120 Minner Avenue, Bakersfield, CA and Services will be held on October 3, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Valley Bible Fellowship, 2200 E. Brundage Lane, with interment to follow at Shafter Cemetery.
