Robert Lee Criswell

December 27, 1931 - December 18, 2014 Robert Lee Criswell “Bob” was born December 27, 1931 in Long Beach, California to Robert and Edythe Criswell. He departed this life on December 18, 2014 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Robert spent most of his life in Kern County. He is preceded in death by son Daryl, his father and mother and his brother Jerry. Robert leaves behind to cherish his memory wife of 62 years Velma. Daughters Roberta Jimerson (Chuck),and Janice Rice (Ray). Grandchildren Brady Parris, Cristina Wincewicz, Derek Mitchell, Nicola Perkins, and Devin Love. Eight Great Grandchildren. One brother Ed, numerous nieces and nephews. Robert’s career in the oil industry began with Superior Oil Company and ended with Baker Hughes International. The last 11 years were spent overseas. He visited and worked in 161 countries. Some things he was most proud of was becoming an Eagle Scout. Robert was a pheresis donor; donating 77 times, he quit once he received the cancer diagnosis. He was most happy going down the road in his motor home. Robert was a long time member of the Westside Church of Christ. He loved many especially Dudley and Edna Drake and special friend Garth Black. Those who knew Bob were indeed lucky. Celebration of Life will be held at Westside Church of Christ 7300 Stockdale Hwy at 11:00 am December27, 2014.
