Hi Mom 

I came to see  You , Dad, & Kenny yesterday May 21, 2020.
Your flowers are still so pretty. I talked to you a few minutes. It was so cold and so windy. I added flowers for you and dad and I took some to Kenny also.
I will be back in two weeks or less and I will bring some nice grass seed or sod for you dad and Ken. 

Marcy and I are really having a hard time with out you. We are each others rock to lean on. 

Lj tries not to talk about it to much he is having a hard time. 

I know you talked to God about healing Max. Max is doing well I tell him everyday Mommy misses him. He sleeps in my room.

I will play some music for you, dad, and Ken when I come again. You know how I played music for dad and Ken. 

I miss and love you so much.

I still feel you rubbing my back and holding me a few weeks ago telling me how much you loved me. I never doubted that either.

Nan,
I have so many amazing memories of you that it’s so difficult to to pick one thing to speak about. Do I say thank you for showing me the proper way to wipe my rear end, or that crushed ice in a glass of coke with  a plastic cup on a summer day is the best drink? Well, I could go on all day, but one memory that stands out to me is the way you and I would write each other letters and mail them to one another and place random things in the envelope, like a single nickel or fingernail file. I loved getting your letters as much as I loved writing mine to you. You were always there to lift me and support me. Offering anything you could to make me happy. I love you Nan and I will miss you every single day from this day forward, but I will be smiling because of how you’ve helped mold my life. Thank you!

Dear Nan,

I will love you and miss you until my last day. You endured so much and kept pushing forward. I often referred to you as the "Tank", able to take most anything thrown at you. 

During our childhood you were our daycare. Walking from your house in Hamden to #55 Elementary school each day and walking back home thinking of the back scratches we would get while sitting with you watching your favorite soap operas. 

During college you allowed me to move in as I couldn't afford it on my own and served as my grandmother as well as my mother. Many nights you stayed up waiting for me to come in from another crazy night out with Josh (all his fault). We watched the first episode of Survivor together and often times just sat and talked just to talk. Some nights would be your homemade mac-n-cheese while other nights were some random carryout. Remember the time you convinced me to get my haircut at the local shop that I went as a child and they chopped it up so bad you had to shave it? You were hard but I always appreciated the generosity which allowed me to obtain an education that would pave the way to my future.

You are in a better place now Nan and I rest easy knowing you are not in pain and looking down on each of us with a smile. Tell Uncle Kenny and Pop Michael says hi!

Mom 

I miss you so much. I go to ask you if you want coffee or ice chips than I realize your not here anymore.  

There has been a few bright sunny days  and I kept thinking how you would have enjoyed sitting on the glider outback for a few mins. 

I know you talked to God about making Max feel better and to let him stop grieving. Because the next day Max stopped being sick he is eating. He stays in the front living room with me Buddy and Lance . He sleeps in my bedroom floor. I will never let him forget you and I  tell him mommy loves you.

I promise to keep flowers on Kens grave like you and I did and I will be there for you and dad too. 

Mother’s Day was so hard without you. 
I am taking care of all your plants from the house . Please help
Me to keep them alive. You know I am not good with house plants. 

I am so thankful since you were going to be Leaving us that you got you wish and and you were in your own home not mine. 

I am so proud of Little Justin and Hannah  and I know it made you feel good that they stayed with you and me on your last night here. 

I am so thankful I got to spend the last night with you and for being there when you took your last breath. 

Mom I know you are with me everyday. Because if you weren’t I would have totally lost my mind by now. 
The days n nights are so long with out you here it is going to take me a while to find things to do to fill my days. 

I am so sorry you were so sick for so long 
But I am also glad if it had to be . I was with you every step of the way.

I will never forget the countless hours of time we spent together when I was a kid. All the memories of you playing trains with me or walking me to the farm store I will cherish forever. Though we spent less time together as I got older, I loved you no less and I won’t ever stop loving you to the moon and back.

One of my favorite memories of my Grand Mother is when she would tell stories of watching my brothers and I. We would all take a walk up to the store and on the way back she would always tell how I would say “Up me NaN, Up me”.  Always made me laugh and smile. May you Rest In Peace . I love you

To Lou's girls and family,

While many years have passed since last seeing  your mom and  you while living on 36th Street,  I have thought of her often.  I came to know your mom as a friend of her sister Rosie, spent nights at your house while Rosie babysat when you were very small and sat many nights with her on your front porch on 34th Street.

Your mom was a hoot and there was nothing in the world more important than her children! There is no doubt in my mind that her acorns didn't fall far from the tree and you as taught by your mom, have spent your lives working, playing and loving with no regrets and doing so with all the enthusiasm she did! Hold true to that, even with her gone, you are Lou's daughters!

My heart aches that you have lost your mom and I am sure your best friend, especially during this pandemic limiting your ability to fully celebrate her life. Knowing your mom I am certain she is up there throwing her own celebration with your brother. I was sorry to hear of his passing, I can still hear her, "my little Kenny."

May God embrace you with his love, provide solace and may you  find comfort surrounded by the many memories of your mom.  Laugh hard and shed tears of joy for all the years she was a part of your life. Remember, her love of life was infectious and you are blessed to be her children. Continue to sow those seeds until you meet again.

You look beautiful . You always were. When I saw you all the pain, illness, and hurt in your life is gone. I can tell you are at peace now being up there with Kenny. Take time for you now and relax. 
I just want you to know I will never forget all the Barbie clothes you sewed & made for us girls. The clothes you made for us. I don't know how in the world your poor hand held up; winding the handle on the snow cone machine to give us and the neighborhood kids snowballs.  I remember the smells of your cooking, and baking all the time. Christmas time I think you decorated beautifully.We helped dad hang lights outside; you baked and had homemade hot cocoa for us when we came in. You played with us, fished, crabbed you were an amazing mom. You were with me when Buddy was out of state when I gave birth twice. You were my coach. Remember turning on the water to wipe my face? Lol I said Mom forget it , go get the doctor the baby is coming. You looked and you yelled at me in an anxious way. Marylou the baby is in the bed. I said I know mom please get the doctor. Roflol. We took off one day to ocean city with little Justin we were riding looking at trains on tracks because he loved trains. We were talking about him having never seen the ocean. I said I have an idea. After a bit you said where in the world are we going lol. I said Ocean City. I can remember you and me walking him down to the water. He touched the water than  looked up at you and so seriously said. G.G. doesn't that pool have sides. We would go to the zoo, down town to the little black train with him. Pennsylvania  to see Thomas the tank engine. We counted every grab through Baltimore city and took pics of you and him him and me. We built snowmen an sledded with him.  You and I did everything together. Wow Mom no wonder we got on each others nerves Lol. You watched my kids while I worked. You lived with me. We lived with you when we came back from North Dakota. You loved my husband to death and he loved you

Dear Mom,

I was glad to be by your side, holding your hand when God called you home.  I am sad you had to leave us, especially my Grandkids.  Mikayla is having a really hard time with this, but she will heal in time.  

My fondest, most fun memories are when we hung out on the front steps of 36th Street every night until the wee hours of the morning.  We had cars, including police cars, stopped along the whole block.  We would go in and I got a few hours of sleep, got up for work and would come home to do it again the very next night.  

My friends loved to come to the house because I had the cool Mom.  You always wondered how many kids you would wake up to on the weekends.  We usually had a houseful.

I will miss you everyday, I hope you are celebrating with Kenny, Nitza, Terry, Bonnie, Uncle Joe, Ziggy and Dad.  

I love you and will forever be your Katrine!

My heart ❤️ is so broken in so many ways for you.  I miss you so much. I am going to be truly lost. I have been so busy trying to make sure every detail we talked about over the years is perfect and in place for you.  My mornings, days and nights are so empty. Mom, we shared everything; laughter, love, tears, disagreements, every holiday every cook out and birthday party, we were together almost 100% of the time.
You were my support and adviser through the years. You told me I took better care of Kenny in all his battles than any doctor or nurse could have. Every card I have from you I saved with all the notes thanking me for always being there for you.
Not long ago on the way to the hospital, we were talking and I said I have a clear conscience for Dad, for Ken and for you. I told you if anything happened to you know I always loved you. I have clear conscience for you and no regrets. You told me I should not have regrets you and “you are proud of me and could always could count on me”. I did it out of love 💕 mom, for my family. I didn’t need recognition or to be considered a hero. You told me you knew that !
Two weeks ago I cried because you were so sick. Anita was sitting in the chair you cuddled me on your bed. You said you did not want to go either. You let me know then, like you alway have: just  how much you love 💕 me. I never doubted your love. You were the glue of the family .For your children all the way down to taking in your siblings and neighborhood kids to raise. Many of them walked away and forgot. But mom, It never went unnoticed I know what you did for everyone.
You can go see Kenny now. Go fish with him and have your silly laughs with him. Go see your Daddy who loved you with all his heart.
 Soar with the eagles. I know you will always be on my shoulder watching over me. Mom, thank you so much for teaching me do well and what true love 💕 and dedication are. I will be waiting for your visit. Max misses you mom. Love you with all my heart Marylou


A favorite memory with you would be just sitting on the couch watching TV together and taking silly selfies. We didn't get much time together throughout my childhood but the few moments i was able to spend with you as a teenager and young adult I cherish. I love you nanny wollfus.  

A great mother and a dear friend-neighbor.  I'm so sorry for the family.  I know Lou was loved and cared for.  We will see her again.

I would like to express my sincere sympathy for the loss of my Aunt Lou.  I will always remember the many  childhood memories. My Mom and Lou shared a special sister bond and they will celebrate this Mother's Day together.Below is a message a friend passed on to me when my Mom passed away... it is so true.
 A Mother is more than a memory. She is living presence. Your Mother is always with you. She’s the whisper of the leaves as you walkdown the street, she’s the smell of certain foods you remember, flowers you picked and perfume that she wore, she’s the cool hand on your brow when you’re not feeling well, and she’s your breath in the air on a cold winters day. She is the sound of the rain that lulls you to sleep, the color of a rainbow, she is your birthday morning. Your Mother lives inside your laughter. And she’s crystallized in every teardrop. A Mother shows every emotion…. happiness, sadness, fear, jealousy, love, hate, anger, helplessness, excitement, joy, sorrow….and all the while hoping and praying you will only know the good feelings in life. She’s the place you came from, your first home, and she’s the map you follow with every step you take. She’s your first love; your first friend, even your first enemy, but nothing on earth can separate you. Not time, not space…. not even Death!

I don't have any memories of you, we didn't know each other but if we did we would have hit it off I'm sure. Maybe after a scoffel or two. Like mother , like daughter. Memories of you are in everyones hearts who loved you. You're memories live on. Know that you are loved by many.,💕💕

Who would’ve thought that right down the road was  an amazing family that I had no idea existed.  A family that was also my own. Once I learned of you I couldn’t have been more excited to have the opportunity to meet you in person. Thanks to your daughter Mary, my cousin, reaching out that was able to happen. Although we had never met, I felt like I had known you my whole life. And seeing the similarities that you and my mom, your sister, have is something that is indescribable. I am ever so grateful for that day.  I wish I would have had more time to get to know you Aunt Lutricia. But for now, I’ll hold on to the one special day. Until we meet again🖤

I have a lot of memories with you from shopping, our haircuts,  trying on clothes.  Most of all I remember the giant snowman we built when I was a little girl. 

I am forever thankful for the person I am because of you and everything you taught me.

I wish you didn't have to leave,  though I know this is part of the journey.  We all come to visit for a while, I know your life is going to be blessed with glory and praise. Your broken heart is healed now seeing your son.

My dear sweet friend. So many menories of you. You helped shaped the person I have become. So many talks with you on the porch at 34th street then at your house on 36th street. I know Mom welcomed you with opened arms and that you two  are together watching over your families. laughing  about sharing an extention cord with each othr when one of you didn't have electricity, sitting on the porch watching us kids play. Just looking out for each other. Looking for hours for Gary an Marci one day only to find them   in a neighbors house eating baby food. LOL Helping each other cleam up after the fire. My memory is the night we stayed up to the wee hours of the morning talking about things from our childhood which had been forgotten.  We laughed and cryed about our sister Nitza and some of the crazy things we did to have fun.  You told me how you and Terry were responsible for dislocating my shoulder as a very young child.  I lived with you as a young teenager and will always remember you taking care of me.  I laughed so hard I fell off of your couch and wet myself .  Your dog Max thought I was hurt and tried to help. We have so many memories ms. Lou I am going to miss you so much my favorite memory of us is when me, you and Mary would play scrabble together and me saying do you want some olives. I will look after Mary for you don’t worry about that.  I will miss seeing you at her house we would watch our soaps together. I have known you and the family for a little over 15 years you and Mary always made me feel part of the family and I will always cherish that in my heart forever, I considered you family
