Mary was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, daughter to Norman and Eunice McPherson, granddaughter to Mr. And Mrs. H. H. Fudger. She passed away in Baltimore on October 5, 2013, leaving sisters Margaret Depew, Anne McPherson and Catherine McPherson (predeceased by Ruth McPherson).
Also, she leaves niece Jane Lett and nephew Tom Depew along with several great and great-great nieces and nephews. Mary was a life long educator following a stint as a Wren in the Canadian Navy during WWII. She loved her dogs, writing poetry and in retirement researched and wrote a book on the history of OldfIelds School, also, writing for the RPP newsletter. Living in the Baltimore area for over 50 years, she taught at Oldf ields School, Glencoe and Bryn Mawr School. Private internment and memorial has been arranged in Ontario. Any memorial donations to the Mary McPherson Scholarship fund at Oldfields School or to Bryn Mawr School would be appreciated.
