You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers

To Ron's Mom, brothers and sister,
Please know that I had the pleasure of knowing  and working with Ron for many years, from the time that he was a group representative in the S.E.A. to the time he rose to the second highest position, Executive Vice President. He always brought a smile to any circumstance and had sound advice, mixed with humor and a dedication to his work. I can say that all my memories of Ron are good ones and happy ones. I'll miss his quick wit and smile. Gary Eder, Former S.E.A President and Friend. My prayers are with all of you.

I was a childhood Friend of Ron. His Grandparents lived a few doors away on Chestnut Ave., in Hampden. I am so sorry to learn of his passing. My thoughts are with his Family.

I did not get to know Ron for very long, but I was looking forward to working with him in the future.  Hopefully, when the going gets rough, we will feel his hand on our shoulders and hear him whisper in our ears.  He will be missed by us all.  I extend my heartfelt sympathies to his family, and will keep you in my prayers.

I am deeply saddened to learn of Ron's passing. He was outstanding in his role of union leadership and was congenial, caring and had a wonderful sense of humor.
That now empty chair next to the president at our union meetings will symbolize the feelings in the hearts of all who knew Ron. I wish comfort and peace for the Hoffman Family as my thoughts and prayers are with Ron. God Bless.

To the Hoffman family
I am so sorry for your loss;
Ron and I started at Westinghouse the same year 1974. He at BWI and myself at Oceanic, three years later I was laid off and was very lucky to be hired at BWI. Ron was one of only a few drafters that were my age at the time among an aging workforce in the drafting department. Ron was always a good friend and coworker from the start and remained one through the 37 plus years that I knew him. I enjoyed his humor, as so many of us did, and talking to him about sports and just about everything. 
Ron, you left us way too earlier and I still can't believe that I won't see your smile and hear your wit when I come to work. I was so looking forward to going to your retirement that I believe would have been within a few years. You gave us memories that we will talk and reminisce about for years to come.

To Mom, Stu and all my brothers from a different mother,
Being in the family for a long time we developed such a strong brotherly bond of love and companionship. So many of our challenges were overcome.
Many trains he would talk and discuss but his true love was the fight for the less fortunate, the underdog and being a friend to those at the time of their needs. Sometimes we forget but He never did.
Take comfort in his Jesus like efforts and goodwill he expressed to so many people during his time here on earth.

My Dear Sweet Brother,
Our lives changed drastically on Tuesday and will never be the same again. We learned early in life what it is like to lose a loved one and never get to say goodbye and now that has happened again. Guess it's true that we should live today as if it is our last so that we don't go through this pain. I will miss you terribly but will try to get through this because I know you would not want me to be sad but I can't wait until we are all together again.  Each time we lose a loved one life as we know it changes, this is one change I am not looking forward to. Rest well dear brother there will be no more suffering.

Get started on that train garden, I will look forward to seeing your masterpiece when we meet again.
