Chuck Johner

November 16, 1924 - July 12, 2015

On July 12, 2015, Mr. Charles “Chuck” Andrew Johner of Mayerthorpe passed away peacefully in his home. Chuck wore many hats- including working as a school bus driver and farmer. Chuck was more known for his love of working the chuck wagon/chariot racing, which he enjoyed while still in good health up to 2007. Chuck achieved gold member status in the Alberta Professional Chuck Wagon & Chariot Association. He was a Legion Member, a Kingsmen and a K-40 member. He was supportive of many community organizations by graciously volunteering over 5000 hours of his time. Chuck was born in Spruce Grove, Alberta to parents Emil and Adel. He married Vi on June 22, 1972. Chuck is predeceased by his parents; Emil and Adel, the Mother of his sons; Lillian Hestback, son; Jim Johner, Granddaughter; Melissa Johner, 4 brothers; Emil, Gene, Max and Jack, 4 sisters; Yvonne, Margaret, Rose and Maxine. Chuck is survived by his wife; Vi of 43 years, sons; Duane (Laurie) and Ian (Pauline), Daughter; Sandra (Evan Low), 6 grand kids, 13 great grand kids, 2 brothers; Louis and Robert, Sister; Pex and numerous nieces and nephews. A wonderful Dad, mentor and friend, Chuck will be lovingly missed by all who knew him.
