Esther Linda Bombay

Esther was born April 2, 1947 in Barrhead to Emanuel and Hulda Bilau. She grew up on the family farm in Manola as the second youngest of 10 children. She attended school until her teens and then moved to Edmonton. Esther met Alvin Bombay and their story began, married in October 1964 and lived in Barrhead until 1971 when they purchased their farm.

Esther spent her time raising her children, and enjoying gardening and working with animals on the farm. She achieved her Support Aid Certificate and worked with people in need of home care until retirement. Her and Alvin loved to go camping and fishing in their free time, until Alvin’s passing in Dec 2005. They had a wonderful 41 years of marriage. She stayed on the farm until she moved to Jody’s place in 2022.

Left to cherish her memory are her children Andrew (Iris), David (Leanne), Jody (Don). Grandchildren Justin (Lisa), Stacey (Gordie), Nicole, Jenna (Phillip), Reagan, Shawn, Taylor (Austin), Brent (Cecily), Daniel and Gwen. Great-Grandchildren Brooklyn, Tyler, Colton, Lilith, Abigail, Jace and Riley. As well as numerous other family members and dear friends.

Funeral to take place Monday January 12, 2026 1pm at Rose Garden Chapel in Barrhead, AB. Lunch to follow at the Senior’s Drop-in Center.
