Esther Jean Gottschalk

Jeannie was predeceased by her parents Albert and Lydia Gottschalk; and brother Alfred (Evelyn) Gottschalk and sister Margaret (Roy) Elliott; also, infant brother Bernard Gottschalk.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.

Jean was born in Edmonton but grew up in Onoway and attended school there up until grade 8. The family lived on a farm and Jean helped on the farm until 1964 at which time they moved into the Town of Onoway. She worked in the Hotel Café, the General Store. She looked after her mom and dad until her dad passed in 1973. She then continued to care for her mom until her passing in 1980.

She then continued to live in their home in Onoway until 1998. At this time, she met her very special friend Fred Klause and moved to Barrhead.

Jeannie made many wonderful friends during her time in Barrhead !

A Memorial Service will be held March 6, 2026 at 1:00Pm at Rose Garden Chapel in Barrhead.

In lieu of flowers she would have appreciated donations to Keir Care Center or MS Society of Alberta.
