Helen Elizabeth Olson

Helen married Orren Olson on April 29, 1944 and raised four children; Larry (Rosanne), David (Donna), Tom (Patty), Donna (Bruce). Helen is predeceased by her husband; Orren in 1978, grandson; Christopher Patrick in 1996, her parents; Fritz & Elsie, sister; Elsie Culver and brother; Donnie Zwarg.

Mom spent most of her life on a farm in the Goose Lake area, in 1977 she moved to Barrhead as Dad was in ill health. She lived in Barrhead where she enjoyed her card playing friends, her garden, watching the Blue Jays baseball, curling, hockey games, and especially enjoyed spending time with her family. In 2008 she had a stroke, then later moved to a lodge in Slave Lake, where her daughter lives. Mom was a great homemaker and could make a great meal from almost nothing, she was loved by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and will be missed by all of us. As per Mom’s wishes, a graveside service for family only will be held at Topland Cemetery on Friday, May 12th 2017 at 1:00pm.
