Through many toils and snares she had already come, but there are no less
days to feel the presence of her love and sing about her grace. Hilda Radke showed great courage, strength and fortitude and grace has lead her home to be in God’s garden with her husband Adam Radke. Hilda passed away on November 20, 2017, which would have been their 65th wedding anniversary. We are certain Dad was happy to celebrate with her once again. Hilda will be lovingly remembered by her children: Bernice Odeen (Zamal), Allan (Susan), Leonard, and Rosemarie; her grandchildren Alicia Odeen (Bill Loundsbury), James Odeen (Shawn), Michael, Amelia, Coltyn Petruniak (Amy Munguia), Travis Petruniak, Amanda Petruniak, and Zackery Petruniak; her great-grandchildren William, Jack, Samara, and soon to be born baby boy (Coltyn/Amy); her siblings Martha, Ida, Edwin (Helene), Seigfried (Eleanor), Edith (Hans), Alvina, Marlene, Eric, and Wilbert. Hilda was predeceased by her father Joseph Skaley and her mother Olga (aka Oleshka); sister, Helen; brother in laws, Sig, Erwin and Bill. Hilda was born on August 20, 1931 in Mosside, Alberta. She farmed with her husband until 1975 when they moved to Edmonton. Hilda worked as a housekeeper at the Royal Alexandra Hospital for 15 years, until she retired. Hilda was very hardworking, selfless and accepting, she had a way to compassionately offer advice, a smile, a laugh or motivation. Hilda did not see hurdles she only saw opportunities. The family would like to send many blessings and thanks to Dr. Chandra and the amazing staff in 9Y at the General Hospital, we witnessed love and compassion for our mother – you brought such comfort and joy to our hearts. Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 pm on Sunday, November 26, 2017 at Rose Garden Chapel, Barrhead, AB. A Funeral Service will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Barrhead, Alberta at 11:00 am, Monday November 27, 2017. Donations can be given directly to St. John’s Lutheran Church or a Charity of One’s Choice.
