Joan S. Tansowny

It is with great sadness that Mrs. Joan Tansowny passed away on November 15, 2012 at the age of 88 years. She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Fred; children, John (Peggy) Tansowny of Sherwood Park, Shirley (Dennis) Rau of Gibbons, Linda (Brian) Sawatsky of Barrhead, and Bob (Corinne) Tansowny of Airdrie; ten grandchildren, Todd (Miranda), Kari, Sara, Dean (Veronica), Wes (Lisa), Jill (Aaron), Candace (Clayton), Jeff, Jolaine, and Jenna; seven great-grandchildren, Avery, Teigan, Drew, Mason, Claire, Noah, and Nathan; twin sister, Helen Mowatt of Olds. Joan is predeceased by her parents, Fred and Annie Lobley; brothers, Jack and Jim; brother-in-law, Dave; and many other extended family. She will also be greatly missed by many cherished friends and students whose lives she touched so greatly. Joan wanted everyone not to mourn her loss but celebrate her life. A Private Family Memorial Service will be held with Reverend David Pype officiating.
