Johannes “Hannie” Pas passed away peacefully on April 17, 2026, at the age of 81.
Born in Vaassen, Netherlands, Hannie lived a life defined by hard work, dedication, and a deep love of farming. From an early age, he felt a strong connection to agriculture that stayed with him throughout his life. In 1994, Hannie and his beloved wife Willy moved to Canada, where they established their farm near Sangudo, Alberta. Through perseverance and commitment, he built a life rooted in agriculture, taking great pride in caring for the cattle & land.
Hannie was a quiet, thoughtful man who found his greatest joy outdoors. Farming was not just his livelihood, but his way of life.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 55 years, Willy; his son Willem (Amy); and his cherished grandchildren, Dirk, Heidi, Sophie, and Cor. His grandchildren meant the world to him, and he treasured every moment spent with them—whether it was out on the farm, checking the pastures or crops. He simply enjoyed being on the farm with his family.
