Ann "Emaw" Edwards

Jessie Mavoureen (Hellums) Edwards, age 92, of Memphis, TN went to her eternal heavenly home on Wednesday, October 23, 2024. She was born on July 22, 1932 in Selmer, TN to Marcus Harrison Hellums and Josie Tenora (Miller) Hellums. Mrs. Edwards is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Martin Bennett Edwards, Sr., her brother John Ernest Hellums and both of her parents. She is also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Bobbi Jo (Edwards) Cowell.

Mrs. Edwards leaves behind two sons, Martin B. "Benny" Edwards, Jr. (Sylvia Lee) and Bobby D. "Danny" Edwards (Rachel). She also leaves three granddaughters, Toni Burns O'Kane (Tim), Misty Manthe (Josh), Patricia "Trish" Carver and one grandson-in-law Derrick Cowell. Mrs. Edwards leaves eleven great-grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua, Jackson, Noah, Dain, Aubrey, Emilee, Joseph, Hunter, Brenden and Matt.

Mrs. Edwards was a member of Ellendale Baptist church where she faithfully attended. Her family was her pride and joy. She enjoyed many past times such as shopping with her family, crocheting and listening to Elvis Presley's music. She is well known as an amazing cook, amazing Mother and Emaw (Grandmother). She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers, to honor her life and memory, the family requests donations be made to Ellendale Baptist Church, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Salvation Army or the charity of your choice.
