Annie Mae Dowdy, 101, of Cordova, TN, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2015. She was a member of Cherokee Baptist and enjoyed flower gardening and quilting. Mrs. Dowdy, the widow of Johnny C. Dowdy, is survived by a daughter, Melba Jean Alexander of Cordova; six grandchildren, Ronald (Judy) Carter, Marty Carter, Marsha (Chris) Jones, J. (Cindi) Alexander, Jackie (Stan) Lautar and Beverly (Wilder) Lax; thirteen great grandchildren and seventeen great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Gladys L Taylor and Billie Faye Carter and her eleven siblings. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Friday, January 23 at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd. The family will receive friends beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in West Heights Baptist Church Cemetery in Pontotoc, MS.
