Betty E Berretta

Betty was born in Corinth, MS on May 31, 1938, to Earl Williams and Ora Mae Bowers Williams. She was the youngest of four daughters. She graduated from Kossuth High School in 1956.

Betty moved to Memphis, Tennessee to start her first job with Fisher Lime and Cement. She then went on to work for Holiday Inn.

She retired from Fulton Insulation Company as an accountant. After retirement she continued to handle the clerical duties for her husband’s business Berretta Acoustics.

She used the skills she learned in home economics and became a wonderful seamstress. She made fully lined suits for herself and dress shirts with monogram pockets for Pete. It didn’t matter what the pattern was they always matched perfectly.

She enjoyed canning vegetables and making homemade preserves. Her German chocolate cake and chocolate, lemon and coconut pies were outstanding !!

Betty was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church Bartlett, Tennessee.

Betty is survived by her loving husband of 47 years Peter Berretta Jr.,niece Martha Bishop (Dan Bryars), nephew Gary Bowers (Lupe), great nephew Donald Moore Jr., great niece Jennifer Moore Perry, sister-in-law Marie Berretta Kohn, niece Beth Kohn Gresham (Andy), nephew’s Michael Kohn (Teresa) and David Kohn (Suzi)

Great nieces Mary Gresham, Erika Kohn Hubbard (Wesley), Linda Kohn and Betsy Kohn and great nephew Charles Kohn. Three great-great nieces, Allee, Katee and Annie Kate, six great-great nephews Brett, Wade, Blake, Jax, Ethan and Henry and one great-great-great nephew Silas. We all loved her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her three sisters, Frances Seago, Virginia Bowers, and Kate Darling and nephew Donald Moore Sr.

A visitation for Betty will be held Friday, April 25, 2025 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133. A funeral service will occur Friday, April 25, 2025 at 1:00 PM, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133. A committal service will occur Friday, April 25, 2025 at 2:45 PM at Calvary Cemetery, 1663 Elvis Presley Blvd, Memphis, TN 38106.
