Betty Pierce, 84, of Memphis TN, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on 11/11/2025. Born in Mankato, Minnesota, to Lester and Caroline Kendall, Betty lived a life filled with love, laughter, and a touch of sass that brightened every room she entered. Betty was a proud member of Faith Fellowship Church, where she found comfort, community, and purpose throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Marvin Pierce; her brother, Jim Kendall; and her sister, Carol Blackwood.
She is survived by her children, Pat Pierce (Tracey) of Fisherville, TN, Rick Pierce (Caroline) of Nashville, TN, and Lisa Chapman (Billy) of Drummonds, TN; and her brother, Jack Kendall; along with 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren who brought her endless joy.
A devoted Minnesota Vikings fan, Betty never missed a chance to cheer on her team—often with spirited commentary that showed her trademark sass. She had a deep love for loons, cherished her traditions during the holidays, and could always be counted on to have a stash of her favorite junk food nearby.
Betty’s warmth, humor, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed but forever remembered. Her legacy lives on in the laughter, faith, and traditions she passed down through generations.
Services will be held at Memphis Funeral Home 3700 Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133, on Saturday 11/22/2025. Visitation is 9am and the service is at 10am.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Betty by enjoying a sweet treat, and/or making a donation to Memphis Jewish Home or a charity of your choice in honor of Betty Pierce, and spending time with the ones you love most—just as she would have wanted.
