

Bobby Wayne Franks, born May 9, 1946, in Drummonds, Tennessee, passed away on February 13, 2025, in Memphis, Tennessee, at the age of 78. A man of many talents and an unwavering work ethic, Bobby could build anything he put his mind to and fix anything that needed repair. Whether it was vehicles, houses, boats, or even a water slide for a water park, there was little he couldn’t do. He was even known to crochet, a testament to his versatility and skill.
Bobby was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who brought joy and laughter to all who knew him. He was a man of faith, having been saved, and he deeply loved his wife and family. His legacy will live on in the stories told by those who cherished him most.
He is survived by his loving wife, Judy Franks, and his daughter, Katherine Renee (Franks) Markley of Munford, TN. His grandchildren, all of whom adored their Pawpaw, include Matthew Steven Huey of Munford, TN; Hunter Sebastian Markley (Paige) of Earl, AR; Madison Alexis Renee Coker (Jackson) of Fort Myers, FL; Alex Moorhead (Kyle) of Collierville, TN; and Jesse Logan Franks (Hannah) of Lagrange, TN. Bobby was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Jojo Moorhead, Jameson Moorhead, Ada Moorhead, and one on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Melvin Franks Sr. and Retha Mae (Wright) Franks, his son, Darrell Wayne Franks, and his siblings Judy Lynn Butler, Roy Melvin Franks Jr., Shirley Bivens, and Barry Franks. He is survived by his siblings Ronald Franks of McNairy County, Peggy Knight of McNairy County, and Betty Guy of Louisiana.
Bobby leaves behind a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews too numerous to name, all of whom were touched by his kindness, humor, and wisdom.
His memory will forever be carried in the hearts of those who loved him. A hardworking man, a devoted family man, and a light in the lives of so many, Bobby Wayne Franks will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
A visitation for Bobby will be held Thursday, February 20, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133, followed by a funeral service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
