It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brett Matthew Seay, age 29, who left us far too soon on August 20, 2024. Brett was a cherished son, brother, grandson, and friend, whose presence brought joy and warmth to everyone around him.
Born on December 19, 1994, Brett lived his life surrounded by the love of his parents, Gina and Jeff, and his brother and sister-in-law, Chase and Addison. He was deeply loved by his grandparents, Julius Long Jr., Pat and Eddie Holmes, Cecil and Vicki Seay, who will forever cherish the memories of their time together. His best friend, Austin Rodriguez, was like a brother to him, sharing countless adventures and moments of laughter. Brett was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joan Burgess and Chester Jené, whose memories he held dear throughout his life.
Brett had a passion for life that was evident in everything he did. He found peace and happiness at the lake where he spent many days enjoying boating with his family. He was also a passionate sports fan, never missing a chance to watch a game with his family and friends. His love for sports (betting on FanDuel) was only surpassed by his love for the people in his life. Brett treasured the time he spent with his family, creating memories filled with laughter and love. His infectious laugh and sweet heart will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His loss leaves a void that can never be filled, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A celebration of life to honor Brett will be held on Friday, August 23rd, 2024 at 1:00pm at Memphis Funeral Home. All who knew and loved him are invited to attend and celebrate his life.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Brett’s memory to American Heart Association, or a charity of your choosing.
Rest in peace, Brett. You will be deeply missed and forever loved.
