Byron Luther Sowers Jr.

Byron was born December 16, 1932 in Port Arthur, Texas to the late Byron Luther Sowers, Sr. and Fern Elizabeth Harvey Sowers. He graduated from Lockport High School in Lockport, Illinois. He continued his education at Devry University where he received his Bachelor's degree.

Byron worked for Philips Control and at Sunbeam from 1966 until retiring in 1996.

In addition to his parents, Byron is preceded in death by his brother, Charles Harvey Sowers, and half sister, Roseanne Mills. He will be greatly missed by his long time friend and caregiver, Janie Ellison and her partner John Scarborough; his half brother Francis Bernard Sowers and many other friends and family.

A gathering of family and friends for Byron will be held Friday, October 28, 2022 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133, followed by a graveside service at 10:30 AM in Memorial Gardens.
