

CALVIN ELMO JOHNSON, age 91, went to be with the Lord on March 22, 2013. He was a retired locomotive engineer for the Illinois Central Railroad. He served in the United State Navy during World War II. His only child, Annette Johnson Scott, was born while he was in service on the island of Guam. He was born in Dee, Arkansas and grew up in the Jonesboro, Arkansas area. After he returned home from military service, he and Agnes and Annette moved to Memphis, Tennessee and have lived there ever since that time. His beloved wife of 71 years, Agnes Kathryn Fuller Johnson, passed away on January 11, 2013. They are now together in heaven. He leaves his daughter, Annette; his son-in-law, James Hillery Scott; two granddaughters, Elisabeth Scott Sadler and Mindy Scott Jennings; three great-grandchildren, Samuel Stephen Sadler, Melinda Elisabeth Jennings and Jonathan Scott Jennings; and one great-great-granddaughter, Sian Raelle Sadler. He was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church. The service will be held at Memphis Funeral Home, 3700 Germantown Road on March 25, 2013. The service will be at 2 p.m., with visitation from 1-2 p.m. Interment will be in Memphis Memory Gardens.
