She married her beloved husband, Garth David Letson, on January 18th, 1952 who preceded her in death on May 15th, 2013, at their home in Ashland. Their marriage lasted over 61 years.
There were four children, Sharon L. Burlison, who preceded her mother in death, her husband Jesse, Rebecca Letson Clark (Gary), and Garth David Letson, II, and his wife Shirley, Gary D. Letson and his wife Barbara.
She leaves a sister, Nancy Lawrence of Boise, Idaho and a brother, Tom Sanders and his wife Lynn of Ashville, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara Jean Sanders, Mary Elizabeth Pritchett, and her brother Roy L. Sanders, Sr.
Mrs. Letson and her husband ran an electrical company for over 20 years in Shelby County, Tennessee. When Mr. Letson retired from Shelby County Government they moved to Benton County, Mississippi.
Mrs. Letson was a very enthusiastic fan of NASCAR, a collector of Fenton Glassware, and Roseville Pottery. She and her husband often went to auctions and flea markets together. They also took many trips in their American Eagle Motor Home with their daughter Beckie. She and her sister Mary made ceramics and sold them for years at First Monday in Ripley, Mississippi. She was a very talented and creative person. She had seven grandchildren, many loving great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
A graveside will be at 2:00pm on Thursday, March 31st at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd, Bartlett, TN 38133.
