She was born on June 17, 1937 in Randolph County, IN, daughter of the late Dallas J. Kidwell and Erma L. Carter. She attended Memphis City Schools and was a member of Journey Church.
Carolyn spent her life as a homemaker, where she dedicated her life loving and caring for her children and many others. She loved family get togethers, enjoyed going out to eat, and attending church. She was the most humble, strongest, selfless, and giving person. She never complained, did without for others, made it on nothing, and was always so thankful for what she had.
She is preceded in death by her son Dallas Horne, her sister Junette Crawford, and her brothers; Ronnie Kidwell, Howard Carter, and Steve Carter all of Memphis, TN,
Carolyn is survived by her children Bonnie Holyfield (Bobby) of Millington, TN, Barbara Allen of Bartlett, TN, Kenneth Horne (Kathy) of Memphis, TN, Erma Davis (Don) of Millington, TN, Jackson Horne and Anthony Horne (Cher) of Millington, TN. 20 grandchildren, 39 great- grandchildren, 3 great-great- grandchildren and a sister Rose Tiner of Memphis, TN, a sister Linda Carter Williams of Durham, NC, and a sister Rhonda Jolley of Fort Stockton, TX.
A visitation for Carolyn will be held Thursday, December 2, 2021 from 9:00am to 10:00am at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, Tennessee 38133, followed by a funeral service at 10:00am. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
