Charles Austin “Sonny” Jones, Jr., 66, of Lakeland, TN, passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2011 at his home. He was a member of West Frayser Baptist Church, retired from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department. Sonny was an avid horse lover and was a loving husband, father and grandfather who cherished his family. Mr. Jones, the husband of Betty Ann Jones for 46 years, also leaves his daughters, Brook Ann (Mark) Laine of Olive Branch, MS and Stephanie Lynn (Jay) Westmoreland of Arlington, TN; sister, Charlotte Miller of Cordova; mother, Evelyn Jones of Frayser; grandchildren, Charley Warf, Eryn Laine and Austin Westmoreland and a great granddaughter, Maysen Laine. He was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Jones. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday afternoon, September 4 at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd.
