Chester “Sonny” Lewis Campbell Jr. passed away October 13, 2022, after a long illness. He was born in Jackson, Mississippi on May 9, 1941. He was the oldest of five children to the late Chester and Dorothy Campbell. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Earl and a sister, Dale Seeley.
He served his country proudly by completing his tour of duty in the U.S. Army. Sonny was a multi-talented man. He successfully worked in construction projects for many years. He co-owned a pool building business for a number of years. His main career passion led him to become an Industrial Engineer. He worked for over forty years at Industrial Air Corporation where he was the Engineering Manager and also served as Vice President of the company for many years. Sonny also built a home by himself at Snow Lake Shores in Mississippi where his children and grandchildren enjoyed many happy years and memories.
Sonny is survived by his wife of 23 years, Linda; a son, Brad; his daughters, Robin Campbell and Ashley Campbell; two stepdaughters, Michelle Smith and Nicole Sharkey; ten grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday, October 17 from 6 PM-8 PM with a funeral service on Tuesday October 18th at 2 PM at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Parkway, Bartlett Tennessee, 38133. Father John Hourican will officiate the funeral service.
