

Colleen Craven Hares, 74, lifelong Memphian, passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2011. She was a communicant of St. Ann Catholic Church, Bartlett, a graduate of Holy Name School and fulfilled her childhood dream of becoming a Registered Nurse and retired from Methodist Hospital after 32 years of service. Ms Hares leaves her daughters, Paula Lewis (Jerry), Pam Walkup (Pat) and Karen Weinman; sons, Leland Hares (Celia) and Thomas Hares (Jeannie); sisters, Dorothy Crain, Kathleen Craven, Jane Crain and Margie Adams; brother, Tim Craven; and grandchildren, Jennifer Lewis Morrison, Katherine and Flynn Lewis, Walker, Zoe and Phoebe Weinman, Scott, Keith and Wesley Walkup, Donna Hiltenbrand and Rita Hall. She was preceded in death by a brother, William Joseph Craven. The family will receive friends this evening, Tuesday, January 4 from 6-8 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd. Mass will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, January 5 at St. Ann Catholic Church, Bartlett with interment to follow in Memorial Gardens, formerly Memory Hill Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials be made to the National Kidney Foundation of West Tennessee, 857 Mt. Moriah Rd., Suite 201, Memphis, TN 38117.
