

Denise was born in Memphis, Tennessee, where she also grew up and built a life rooted in faith, family, and community. She attended Immanuel Lutheran School through the eighth grade and graduated from Raleigh-Egypt High School in 1976.
On October 26, 1979, Denise married the love of her life, Billy Wayne Barton. Together they shared many years of marriage centered on devotion to family, church, and one another.
Denise enjoyed a successful career with CBRE, where she worked as a Senior Financial Operations Manager. She was respected for her dedication, professionalism, and strong work ethic.
A longtime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Denise was deeply involved in church life. Most recently, she served as a member of the Altar Guild and participated in church groups including LWML. Her faith was a guiding force throughout her life, and she was known as a strong woman of faith who lived her beliefs through service and love for others.
Denise had a true gift for cooking and baking and was especially well known for her cakes, which brought joy to many family gatherings and celebrations. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and rarely missed an opportunity to attend their activities, including band events, cheer, and soccer. She also enjoyed participating in book club and dinner club, playing bunco for many years, and cherishing the friendships she built through these gatherings.
She is survived by her loving husband, Billy Wayne Barton; her children, David Barton (Jackie) and Sherri Parker (BJ); her grandchildren, Makenzie, Madilyn, Katelyn, Kaleb, Braelyn, and Carter; her sister, Rosie Blatt; and her niece, Angie Hood.
Denise will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her generous heart, her love of family, and the warmth she shared with everyone who knew her.
A visitation will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church, located at 6235 Raleigh Lagrange Rd, Bartlett, TN, 38134, on January 5, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, with service at 2:00 pm and interment to follow at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens located at 3700 N Germantown Rd, Bartlett, TN 38133.
Donations can be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church and Seena Magowitz Pancreatic Cancer Foundation in her name. This is not in lieu of flowers because mom loved flowers.
