

Frederick Joseph McGoff Sr., known to friends and family as Freddie, Born in Memphis, Tn., on January 8, 1933, passed away on March 15, 2012. He was preceded in death by his father, Frederick Arron McGoff, mother Mildred Margaret Dufrene Reed, and beloved stepfather Walter H. Reed. He attended Catholic High School where he was an All Memphis Baseball player. He was a retired shipping supervisor at E.I.Dupont where he worked for 38 yrs. Fred enjoyed playing golf with friends and wife JoAnn. His real passion was his family. He lived for them in every aspect of his life. He was a long time coach and athletic director at his children’s school and besides his own children, helped develop the athletic skills and competitive values for many children over the course of 20+ years. Fred always encouraged his family to celebrate his life, as he truly felt God had blessed him with a wonderful wife, children, and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, JoAnn Rast McGoff, 6 children, Fred J. McGoff Jr. (Cheryl), Jim McGoff, Tommy McGoff (Charla), Becky McGoff Webb (Kim), Kathy McGoff Cargile (Larry), Margaret Ann McGoff Stanfill (Dennis). He also leaves 11 grandchildren, Lindsey and Joey McGoff, Ashley and Amber Stanfill, Mitch, Caley and Allie Cargile, Mallory, Lauren, and Justine McGoff, and Taylor Webb. The McGoff family will receive family and friends from 4pm – 6pm Sunday March 18 at Memphis Funeral Home, located at 3700 North Germantown Rd, Bartlett, Tn. They will have a celebratory mass on Monday March 19 at St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church beginning at 10:30 am, with burial to follow at Memphis Funeral Home.
