Gayle T O'Daniel

Gayle Ann Throgmorton O’Daniel was born in Memphis, TN on November 21, 1947, to the late Philip and Elizabeth Throgmorton. She married her childhood sweetheart, Freddy O’Daniel, and they raised their children in Memphis, TN. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Gayle was thoughtful, kind, nurturing and dedicated her life to her family. She is remembered as the glue that held her family together.

Throughout her career she worked as an administrative assistant for several medical doctors in the Memphis area.

Gayle, along with her husband and family attended Hope Presbyterian Church.

Gayle was preceded in death by her daughters Lisa Michelle O’Daniel, and Michelle Renee O’Daniel Utley.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Freddy O’Daniel; daughter, Melissa O’Daniel Thomas; grandchildren, Gabriel Winsett, Meagan Thomas (Deren), and Joshua Thomas; great granddaughter, Paislee Haynes; former son in law, Joseph Thomas Jr and his daughter Haley Thomas; sister, Phyllis (Johnny) Hellums; nephews, Dustin Hellums, Trey (Stacy) Hellums; great nephew, Jack Hellums; cousins and extended family and friends.

Memorial service for Gayle will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at Memphis Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 3700 Germantown Parkway Bartlett, TN 38133. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m., funeral service at 2:00 p.m. and graveside service to follow
