George Hendrix Bundy, 78, passed away Wednesday morning October 15, 2025, in Bartlett, Tennessee. He is preceded in death by his mother Katie Mae Burroughs and brother Steve Bundy. He is survived by his wife Anna Bundy, daughter Monica (Brian) Perry, son Greg (Jill) Bundy, granddaughters Katlyn (Scotty) Burdick, Madeline (Sam) Killebrew, Lydia Bundy, Caroline Bundy, and Georgia Bundy, great grandchildren Emilia and Sean Burdick, and brother Jerry (Brenda) Bundy.
On March 1st, 1947, George Bundy was born in Savannah, Georgia, as the second son of three to his mother, Katie Mae. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He married Anna on March 20, 1971, and they celebrated 54 years of marriage this year. During that time, he welcomed his two children, Monica and Greg. He spent most of his adulthood in management for Reynolds Aluminum. He began welcoming his grandchildren in 1998 and great grandchildren in 2018. From then on, George became Pop.
Some of his favorite things to do in his free time were yard work and loving on his grandchildren. On Saturdays in the fall, he could always be found in his recliner, watching Alabama football with his family. He was a very loyal and optimistic man, and always said "can't never could do nothing." He was the type of man who would give the shirt off his back to another person if they needed it and would always offer support without question.
He was loved by all who met him and will be greatly missed. However, his family takes great comfort knowing they will see him again in paradise with Jesus. We love you, Pop. And as he always said, "Don't cry about me."
A private family memorial will take place followed by a private interment at West Tennessee Veteran's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
