

Glenn Moore, 83, passed away July 12, 2017 at Methodist Hospice House in Memphis. He was a veteran of the United States Army, a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division and a 27 year veteran with the Memphis Police Department, retiring as Captain. While with the Memphis Police Department, he served as firearms instructor, the 1st commanding officer of the Emergency Response Squad now the Tactical Response Team and pilot of the first Memphis Police Department helicopter. Mr. Moore was also assistant coach of the FACS-Trap Team, an usher at Central Church and a loving husband, father, Pops and friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents, A.B. and Martha Moore, daughter, Laurel Denise Moore and brother, Elmer Earl Moore.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Frances M. Moore, daughter, Carol (Anthony) Anderson, and a grand-daughter, Victoria Grace Anderson.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 from 10 A.M. until service time. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 A.M., all at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Road, Bartlett, TN, with interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Captain Moore may be offered to West Cancer Center, Methodist Hospice House or Central Church Senior Adult Ministry. The family wishes to express a “special thank you to the Angels” at West Clinic and at Methodist Hospice House.
