

Gordon Sojourner, a hard-working man, passed away on March 24, 2026, at the age of 100. Born December 24, 1925, in Memphis, Tennessee, Gordon was the son of Albert C. Sojourner, Sr. and Maddie Lou Rochelle. He resided most of his retired life at Horseshoe Lake, Arkansas.
Gordon attended schools in Memphis and later entered the United States Army Air Corp, serving from September 1945 until 1948. After serving his country, he worked for Kimberly Clark for 35 plus years before retiring. In retirement, he spent time living at Horseshoe Lake in Arkansas, where he enjoyed tended to his tomato garden. He enjoyed living a simple life.
In 1951, Gordon met his forever friend, who was also his wife at one time, June Patton.
Gordon enjoyed bowling, fishing, and hunting, and he also loved to be outdoors. Remembered as a kind and quiet man, Gordon leaves behind a legacy of simplicity, and care for those around him.
Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, Albert C. Sojourner Sr. and Maddie Lou Sojourner; two brothers, Albert C. Sojourner Jr. and Raines Sojourner; one sister, Evelyn Sutton; one son, Tony Sojourner; one daughter, Sarah Sojourner; and one granddaughter, Emily Maglio. He is survived by his daughter, Linda Maglio; 8 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren, soon to be 7, with one on the way.
Visitation will be held at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133, on April 1, 2026, from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm. The Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 pm at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens. A Committal Service will take place at 3:00 pm at Memory Hill Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133.
