Buddy was married to his high school sweetheart, Sara Downing Prince, March 2, 1962. They celebrated 52 years of marriage before her passing in October 2015. They had two daughters, Kelly Metaxas and Kimberly Hallum. He had 5 grandchildren, Stephanie Haentzler, Maggie Hallum, Anna Metaxas, Warren “Buddy” Hallum, and Andrew “Drew” Hallum who he loved dearly. Buddy also had many friends that meant so much to him.
About two years ago Buddy was in contact with an old family friend, Patricia Pittman, through their daughters Kelly and Eydie. After many lunch dates they married in May 2021. He was blessed with another daughter, Eydie (Steve) Ricks and grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Buddy is preceded in death by his parents, Horace Homer Prince and Flora Smith Prince and a sister, Mary Jo (Bobby) Erwin. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Prince, of Grenada MS, daughters, Kelly (Steve) Metaxas, of Arlington TN, Kimberly (Hal) Hallum of Lakeland, TN and Eydie (Steve) Ricks of Grenada, MS. His grandchildren Stephanie (Jake) Haentzler, Anna Metaxas, Maggie Hallum, Buddy Hallum, and Drew Hallum. He also leaves a brother, Jack (Mary Lou) Carmichael of Bossier City, LA, and a sister Barbara (Tom) Jones of Tyler, TX and many nieces and nephews.
A gathering of family and friends for Horace will be held Friday, October 14, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Germantown Baptist Church, 4950 Poplar Ave, Germantown, TN 38133, followed by a celebration of life memorial service at 2:00 PM.
