J. Ralph Jackson 84, died on the 5th of November 2019 in Memphis, Tn after a short illness. His funeral service will be held at 11am this Saturday November 16th at Faith Baptist Church, 3755 Germantown Pkwy, Bartlett, TN followed by a committal service at Memphis Funeral Home.
Mr. Jackson was born on the 12th of April,1935 in Russell County, Virginia to Alex and Ethel Jackson. He gained an engineering degree from Virginia Tech in 1957 and had a successful career as an engineer specializing in bridges. He married Judy Jackson on July 18th 1959. They raised 3 children Kimberly, Frank and Glenn. Ralph and Judy were heavily involved in their local church and worked on the mission field in Africa and South America. He and Judy spent their retirement years traveling to over 50 different countries and relaxing on the sugar beaches of Destin, Florida. In his spare time he enjoyed puzzles and his very successful garden sharing its abundance with friends, family and even strangers.
He is survived by his son Glenn Jackson, 8 grandchildren and his brother and two sisters.
His family paid this tribute to him, ‘Ralph was one of the kindest people you could ever meet, he opened his heart and his home to anyone he met over the years. He loved God and his family more than anything and he will be sorely missed.’
