

James Lincoln Beveridge, of Somerville, TN, died January 12th after an extended illness. He was born in St. Joseph, MO and a graduate of Lafayette High School. He is survived by his daughter, Alisha M. Beveridge of Rio Rancho, NM; his nephews, Jim Ross Wheeler, of River Falls, WI, and Roger Wheeler, of St. Joseph, MO; and his former wife, Betty J. Beveridge of Rio Rancho. He was preceded in death by his sister, Pearl Mae Wheeler Kessler of St. Joseph, MO. Mr. Beveridge served in the Navy during WWII as an Aviation Radioman in the VT-14 torpedo squadron. He was also an entrepreneur who owned several successful businesses including a taxi service, restaurant, clothing store and coin-operated laundries. He had a beautiful voice, enjoyed participating in church choir, singing solos and volunteered to lead the music at Liberty Baptist, Calvary and Williston churches. He loved being outdoors and was an avid hunter of deer, squirrel and turkey. He especially enjoyed the challenge of bringing down game with a bow or muzzleloader. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 27th at 10:30 am at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd.. Visitation begins at 8:30 am; food and drink will be available for visitors. Burial will be at 12:30 pm in the West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery.
