James Lee Grace, 80, of Oakland, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2025. Born on March 21, 1945, in Memphis, Tennessee, James lived a life marked by deep love for his family, service to his country, and enduring strength.
A proud Vietnam Veteran, James served his country with honor and dedication. His service was a source of great pride throughout his life.
James was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Sandra, with whom he shared 53 years of marriage. He was a loving daddy to his children. He leaves two daughters, Kim Grace and Cynthia Grace. He is preceded in death by his daughter Carrie Grace and his son James Lee Grace Jr. James was a proud grandfather to Carly Grace and Xavier Grace, and a cherished great-grandfather to three great-granddaughters.
He was the son of the late Murray and Persus Grace. James is survived by his sister Joan Whitehurst and preceded in death by his sister Patricia Jackson. In addition to his immediate family, James is lovingly remembered by several nieces, nephews, and cousins all of whom held a special place in his heart.
James will be remembered for his strength, loyalty, and the love he gave so freely to his family. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched.
Visitation for Mr. Grace will be on Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 9:00 AM until the start of the funeral service at 10:00 AM with burial to take place immediately after service. Services will be held at Memphis Funeral Home located at 3700 N. Germantown Rd. Bartlett, TN 38133
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the VA Hospital in Memphis, TN.
