

James A. Kirkpatrick, after 92 glorious years of life with service to his country in WWII, working at Firestone Tire and Rubber Co., serving as a deacon at Frayser Baptist Church and most importantly loving and providing for his family, Mr. Kirkpatrick “Pop” walked into heaven with a new healthy body on July 29, 2012. “Pop’s” last wishes were to return to Memphis from Piney Flats TN. to visit with his family and friends one last time. He was granted his request with many friends and family surrounding him in his final days. Mr. Kirkpatrick was preceded in death by; his loving wife of 59 years, Lottie Haislip Kirkpatrick, and son, Jimmy M. Kirkpatrick. He leaves behind; his daughter, Debra Kirkpatrick Tabor (Glen), daughter-in-law, Candy Kirkpatrick, five grandchildren, Joseph Kirkpatrick, Chris Kirkpatrick (Dawn), David Kirkpatrick, Micah Tabor, and Jared Tabor (Janie), three great-grandchildren, Taylor Kirkpatrick, Kendal Kirkpatrick, and Ellie Tabor, and his sweet Boston Terrier, Matilda. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Honor Flight Network. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 1 at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd. from 5-7pm. Funeral will be on Thursday, at 10am. Burial will be at Memphis Memory Gardens, 6444 Raleigh LaGrange Rd.
