

Janice Jordan, 75, peacefully entered the presence of her Lord and Savior on March 12, 2025, surrounded by her loving family in Memphis, Tennessee. She was a devoted sister, aunt and friend. Born the second of five children to the late John Boswell Jordan and Nancy Ann Hill on September 29, 1949, in Memphis, TN. Janice dedicated 41 years of her life as a warehouse supervisor at Merle Norman Cosmetics Studio, where her strong work ethic and leadership skills left an indelible mark on her colleagues and workplace. She was admired for her ability to manage with both precision and care, ensuring that every task was completed efficiently while fostering a supportive environment for her team. Janice was a woman of steadfast integrity, remarkable strength, and resilience that inspired everyone who knew her. She was a survivor in more ways than one. Through life’s many challenges, she stood firm, embodying perseverance and grace. Her ability to overcome obstacles with courage and dignity left a lasting impression on her family, friends, and community. She was a testament to the power of resilience and redemption, celebrating 17 years of sobriety-a milestone she wore with immense pride. Her recovery was not only a personal triumph but a source of inspiration for countless others. She used her journey to uplift and guide those struggling with their own challenges, offering hope and compassion to broken souls who found strength in her story and unwavering support. Janice found joy in life’s simple yet meaningful pleasures. A devoted fan of the Memphis Tigers basketball team and the Memphis Grizzlies, she rarely missed a game. She also cultivated beauty and peace through her love of gardening, transforming her yard into a haven of blooming flowers and vibrant greenery. She made an extraordinary impact in the dog rescue community, dedicating her time and energy to saving countless lives and giving neglected animals a second chance. She had a special way of bringing hope and healing to both animals and their future families. Janice was a dedicated marathon runner, embodying discipline, perseverance and a love for challenge. Whether she was training for the next race or crossing the finish line, her commitment to staying fit and pushing her limits was a testament to her determination and strength. Running was more than a sport for Janice-it was a way to connect with herself and inspire others to strive for their personal best. As much as she enjoyed watching basketball, gardening or staying fit, she loved spending time with her family…particularly her nieces and nephews. Janice, affectionately known as “Nannie” by her beloved nieces and nephews, was a pillar of love and warmth in her family. Her endearing nickname reflected the special bond she shared with them, a testament to her nurturing spirit and unconditional love to those she held dear. She found immense joy in supporting her great-nieces and nephews, never missing an opportunity to cheer them on in all their pursuits. Whether it was a soccer match, a baseball tournament, a football game, an equestrian event, or a band performance, she was always their biggest fan. Her pride in their achievements and her encouragement left a lasting impression, making her a beloved figure in their lives. Also, she had a special way of making Christmas magical, especially for her great-nieces and nephews. Every Christmas, she poured her heart and creativity into crafting the perfect, personalized presents for each of them. Her unique Christmas presents became cherished traditions, eagerly anticipated and fondly remembered by those she loved. Janice leaves behind her dearest and lifelong friend Joyce Hoskins, with whom she shared a bond of unconditional love and support. She also leaves her beloved dog, Allie, her loyal companion who brought her so much comfort and joy. Among her cherished family, she is survived by her three sisters, Nancy Bryant, Mary Gho (Alan), and Bobbie Hood; her brother, Johnny Jordan (Debbie); and her stepbrother, Eddie Gossett (Taffy), along with their children, Tiffany Donovan (Kevin) and Eddie Gossett (Misty), seven nieces and nephews; Paul Bryant (Jennifer), Janet Ward (Patrick), Kristi Knabb (Charley), Chad Meyers (Anna Mary), Mary Hannah Gho (Josh), Christopher Hood (Joanne), and Jordan Hood, and five great-nieces and nephews; Madison, Lydia, Ann Parker, Sutton, and Benjamin. A graveside service and burial will be held to honor the beautiful memory of Janice Jordan on Monday, March 17, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens in Bartlett, TN. Friends and family are invited to celebrate her life and pay their respects during this special time of remembrance. The family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to Memphis Animal Shelter or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
