Jean Parnell, 85, of Bartlett, TN, passed away Thursday, October 10th at her home. Mrs. Parnell was a charter member of Broadmoor Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for over 50 years. She was also a retired teacher with Memphis City Schools. Mrs. Parnell, the wife of Allen Parnell for 66 years, is also survived by her daughter, Tanya White (Jim) of Memphis and her son, Ken Parnell also of Memphis. She also leaves behind two grandchildren, Ryan White (Stephanie) and Jenny Shearer (Bill) as well as two great-grandchildren Taylor Hurdle and Luke Shearer. The family will receive friends Sunday evening, October 13th from 5-7pm at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd. A celebration of her life will be held Monday, October 14th at 10am at the funeral home with Interment to follow in Memorial Gardens. Memorial gifts may be made to the Needs Ministry of Broadmoor Baptist Church.
