He attended and graduated highschool at Memphis University School. Jeff then earned an economics degree from Stanford University, and he obtained a law degree from The University of Texas. Jeff also earned his CPA following his graduation from Stanford.
Jeff grew up as an athlete, particularly excelling in basketball and track. He spent his adulthood continuing to play basketball, running races, and biking. Recently, his favorite team was whichever team his brother coached. He loved music and especially enjoyed going to concerts and seeing both new and old country musicians.
He was so proud of his children. His family and friends will cherish his stories and memories.
He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Earl (“Buddy”) Wise. He is survived by his mother, Fay Carol Weatherly, and three children: Dr. Meredith Kathrin Wise and fiancé Dr. Jared Hopkins; Olivia Frances Wise Thompson, and husband Taylor; and Parker Hamilton Wise. He is also survived by a brother, Timothy Allan Wise, and wife Rachel, and a nephew and two nieces, Timothy Luke Wise, Anna Kathleen Wise, and Allison Marie Wise.
