

Born in Monticello, Arkansas, on September 14, 1951, Jerry was the son of Mary Katherine Dow. He attended the University of Memphis, where he was a proud member of Sigma Phi Epsilon and made lifelong friendships. Following college, he built a successful career in television advertising, where his creativity and leadership left a lasting impact.
Jerry married the love of his life, Lynn, and together they raised two children, Austin and Katie. His greatest joy was his family, and he especially cherished his role as “Poppy” to his granddaughter Riley.
A man of many passions, Jerry loved to barbecue and proudly competed for more than 30 years with the Swine and Dine BBQ team at Memphis in May. He was a dedicated Memphis Tigers fan, a beach lover happiest under a tent by the water, and a friend to many. His humor, generosity, and steadfast love will be deeply missed.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Lynn; his children, Austin Crain and Katie Rennie (Alex); his granddaughter, Riley; and his sisters, Joy Butler (Randy) and Janie Crain. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Katherine Dow.
A visitation for Jerry with be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025 from 1:00-2:00 PM followed by a celebration of life starting at 2:00 PM. All services will take place at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens at 3700 N. Germantown Rd. Bartlett, TN 38133.
