Jimmie was born on March 22, 1940 in Middleton, Tennessee the son of the late James & Jewell Curlin. He attended Treadwell High School. From there he joined the Army and on one occasion when home on break he was spotted walking down the street by Peggy Cannon. They married one year later on June 10, 1961.
Mr. Curlin was a commercial pilot, and worked and retired from Kimberly Clark. He was an ammature radio operator and member of the Al Chymia Shrine Temple.
Along with his parents, Jimmie was preceded in death by a son, Danny Joe Curlin, Sr. on March 17, 2024.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years Peggy J. Curlin; three sons Donnie Curlin, Timothy (Anna Kate) Curlin and Michael (Jennifer) Curlin; 17 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson! He is also survived by two sisters Shirley Chizek of Minnesota and Brenda Deane of Memphis, and brother Kenneth S. Curlin of Texas.
Family and friends will gather on Saturday, January 4 from one o'clock until a graveside service starts at two o'clock all at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens located at 3700 N. Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, Tennessee 38133.
The family suggests any donations in Jimmie's honor be sent to any of the Shriners' Hospitals for Children.
