Joan M. Gann

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Lucille Russell. She is survived by her husband of 62 years Travis Gann; daughter, Lorrie Gann Hunley (Terry) of Jackson, TN; daughter, Julie Gann of Bartlett; son, Steven Gann (Dana) of Bartlett; grandson, Daniel Hunley; granddaughter, Dr. Ashton Hunley Pool (Matt); granddaughter, Madison Gann; great grandson, Graham Pool; and a sister, Betty Russell Crenshaw (Kent) of Germantown, TN.

Joan was a graduate of Memphis State University with a degree in education, but she choose to be a homemaker and assist in the family business, Russell Tire Co. Joan was a charter member of the Gann Historical Society where she served as the secretary for 10 years. She was a lifelong member of

Providence Baptist Church in Bartlett (formally Hollywood Baptist) where until recently, she sang in the choir and was active with the Kitchen Ministry. Joan had a creative gift and she excelled at writing and interior design. Joan’s greatest joy was spending time with her family. She loved to travel and celebrate every event imaginable with her family and friends.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Providence Baptist Church on 4351 N. Germantown Rd. Visitation for family and friends will be prior to the service beginning at 12:30 p.m. at the church. The family requests that any memorials be directed to the Providence Baptist Church.

Joan will be remembered as woman of faith, a devoted wife, mother, and Grammie. Her legacy will live on through the lives she touched and the love she shared.
