My sympathy and love goes to the Bradshaw family.  Mr. Bradshaw was an amazing man who led an amazing life.  He will be missed.

Helen and family:   Both my husband, Mark Brooks, and I, came to know and respect Joe from our work as staff with the Paperworkers Union in the 80's and 90's. Joe genuinely cared about you as a person, and respected your opinions and efforts.  He was the type of person for whom you wanted to do your best work, because he was sincere and steadfast about his commitment to the health, safety, and justice due the members he respresented so well.  When the book about The Greatest Generation came out a few years ago,  Joe was one of the first people who came to mind, and he will always be regarded in that way by us.   We are deeply saddened by his passing, and for your loss.

Vice President Bradshaw was the lead officer for the Kimberly Clark Council when I was hired during 1989; I believe that it was at a KC  meeting that I first met Joe.  He very quickly told me to call him by his first name--no titles to be thrown around by this humble Union man.  I am a hugger and quickly learned that Joe would hug me good-bye after meetings:  he wore aftershave that reminded me of my dad--and it would cling to my suits for hours after being hugged.  It was as though Joe stayed with me.

When I was pregnant with my now 14 year-old son, I had to research KC benefit files:  they were stored in the attic at his office.  He was so concerned about me climbing up that set of steps to get into the attic.  I wasn't just an employee of his Union, he genuinely cared.  

I have loved Joe Bradshaw since I met him for he presented what I want to be for our Union; I have carried a piece of Joe with me and will continue to do so for the rest of my life.  He taught me to stay the course for my work helps our members, he taught me to be strong in the face of even the toughest company people because they are doing their jobs as I am doing mine, he taught me that I can continue to be honest and service our members at the highest level of integrity.  These are golden traits.

Most caring wishes to your family, friends, and workmates, Joe, for you will truly be missed here on earth.

Even though I can not personally be there for the service, both my children will come in my stead.  Joe was a joy and Tuesday and Jason have so many fond memories of times spent with him when they were growing up.  He was a wonderful, treasured friend to my Dad, Wayne.  The spirit of Joe lives on, Always.

One of the highlights of my life and career with the Union was the  opportunity to work with and be friends with Joe Bradshaw and his family. One of my most cherished items is a picture of Joe and myself I keep in my office. May Joe rest in peace, he will be missed by all, JimDunn
