Joe worked in technology with First Tennessee Bank and IBM. He also proudly served in the Tennessee National Guard for 32 years, retiring as a First Sergeant and deploying during the first Gulf War.
Outside of work and service, Joe loved the outdoors—especially hunting—and he spent most of his free time with his family. He took his sons fishing, camping, shooting, and four-wheeler riding, and he showed up for the moments that mattered: basketball games, baseball games, soccer matches, and supporting his son’s high school band. He was known for helping people and being someone others could count on.
Joe is survived by his wife, Janice Crook; his sons, Micheal Crook and Christopher Crook (and his wife, Aimee Crook); his grandchildren, Kylie, Hudson, and Ryker; his sisters-in-law, Melissa Rauch and Val Crook; and several nephews, a niece, and two great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, William C. Crook and Ruth Crook, and his brother, William “Butch” Crook.
